Welcome! I am so excited to get to share with you one of the things I’m most passionate about: MUSIC! I believe that we were designed to create, and learning to play an instrument provides us with a wonderful creative outlet that will serve ourselves and others throughout our lives. It’s never too late to pursue a passion, and I can’t wait to help you and your family uncover and hone your talents.
Please arrive to lessons on time. If you will be late, please text or email me and let me know.
LESSON CANCELLATION POLICY
If the need arises for you to miss your lesson, please give me at least 24-hours notice. Forgotten or missed lessons (no shows) or any other lessons that fail to provide 24-hours notice, will NOT be eligible for a makeup lesson. No exceptions.
If I need to cancel a lesson, I will try my best to let you know well in advance. I will make you aware of my travel and vacation plans for the coming months at the beginning of each semester.
MAKEUP LESSON POLICY
If you have to cancel your lesson and give me 24 hours notice, makeup lessons may be accommodated on a designated day I will coordinate with you. Makeup lessons typically can’t be rolled over to the next month or semester, though exceptions may be made.
LESSON WITHDRAWAL POLICY
To withdraw from lessons, please provide 30-days notice by texting, calling me or emailing email@example.com. I’ll send you a withdrawal form to fill out to remove the student from my scheduling and billing system.
If a student plans to withdraw at the end of a semester, 30-days notice and completion of withdrawal form is still required.
Tuition is $25 for a 30 minute private lesson, scheduled once a week.
I will bill you for your lessons via PayPal at the beginning of each month or the beginning of the semester, depending on what you choose. I’ll also accept cash, check, Cash App, or Venmo.
Payment is due at the beginning of each month (or semester). If payment is not processed within the first week of the month, I will postpone further lessons until payment is made.
Tuition is non-refundable and will not be adjusted or prorated for students that withdraw early or miss scheduled lessons. (Please see Withdrawal Policy)
Private lessons for the first student in a family are $25/30 minute lesson. Additional family members will be discounted at $20/30 minute lesson.
I teach lessons in three semester blocks:
Spring: January – May (Registration in December)
Summer: June – August (Registration in May)
Fall: September – December (Registration in August)
Please contact me to discuss current openings for the coming semester so we can schedule your lessons.
Our scheduled lesson time slot during spring semester will carry over into the summer semester unless I request a change or you coordinate schedule changes with me. If you choose to take the summer semester off, I cannot hold your current lesson time slot for you for the fall semester. Please give me 30 days notice before taking off for the summer.
I may be a little unconventional when it comes to practicing, but I believe a little bit every day goes a long way. It’s much more effective to practice for just 10 minutes every day than it is to cram in an hour or two once a week right before your lesson. I recommend for beginning students to shoot for a 10-20 minute practice every week day. It is completely up the student to develop a consistent practice regimen that works for them, and I always encourage parents and students to make it as fun as possible! The more fun you have while playing the instrument, the more you’ll want to play and practice. If you’re not enjoying yourself and wanting to play, something’s not working and I’d love to adjust lessons accordingly!
Open communication is very important to me! I want to provide a positive, fun experience for your child, so if you are concerned about anything to do with their lessons or progress, please talk to me about it! You’re always invited to be present during a lesson, but I personally find it it easier to open up when I’m one on one with my coaches and teachers. We can always touch base at the beginning or end of a lesson as well.
