Oh, Brother John.
How I love that man and his blessed music.
His song, “The Heart of Life” has been an anchor for me this past year. It’s one of those songs that makes me get misty every time I sing it.
I love how music has the ability to heal our hearts, and recording my own version of this sweet song was incredibly healing for me.
I’ve experienced two miscarriages this year, and my husband and I have dealt with all of the grief, confusion, pain and sadness that comes when things don’t go the way we think they should.
The lyrics in this song remind me that even when pain throws my heart to the ground, love is always there to turn things around.
Even though things may not go the way we hope they will, the heart of life is still good.
I still have so much to be grateful for.
There is always still hope and good to be found!
There will always be amazing people in my life, angels who lift me up, pray for me, and help get me back on my feet.
And God will always be there, pouring out His love and leading me gently and carefully through every hard moment.
I hope that this song will bring a smile to your face as it always does for me!
The heart of life really is oh, so good!
